Why AlpenData exists
AlpenData was born from a simple observation: many SMEs depend on poorly documented IT, on providers who are hard to read, or on solutions too complex for their actual needs.
On one side, David saw the technical consequences in the field: unmanaged workstations, forgotten access rights, backups never tested, scattered support, dependence on a single person.
On the other, Jim saw the impact from the management side: costs that are hard to understand, IT decisions made under pressure, lack of visibility on risks and investments often poorly prioritised.
AlpenData brings these two perspectives together: technical rigour and strategic vision. The goal is to make IT clear, reliable and sovereign for SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland.

A computer engineer with over 10 years of experience managing systems, networks and infrastructure, David worked with organisations of all sizes before founding AlpenData.
In the field, he saw the same problems repeat themselves: unmanaged workstations, forgotten access rights, backups never tested, scattered support, dependence on a single person. Situations that are avoidable with a structured approach.
AlpenData is his concrete answer: rigorous, documented and predictable IT management for SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland.
Jim Rodrigues

CFO
Holding a Bachelor's degree in economics, Jim brings to AlpenData the strategic and financial perspective that is often missing in purely technical IT companies.
He has observed the impact of IT from the management side: costs that are hard to understand, decisions made under pressure, lack of visibility on risks, poorly prioritised investments.
His role at AlpenData is to ensure that every technical decision remains understandable, justified and adapted to the real means of the client SME.
