Why AlpenData exists
AlpenData was born from a simple observation: many SMEs depend on poorly documented IT, on providers who are hard to read, or on solutions too complex for their actual needs.
On one side, David saw the technical consequences in the field: unmanaged workstations, forgotten access rights, backups never tested, scattered support, dependence on a single person.
On the other, he saw the impact from the management side: costs that are hard to understand, IT decisions made under pressure, lack of visibility on risks and investments often poorly prioritised.
AlpenData brings these two requirements together: technical rigour and budget clarity. The goal is to make IT clear, reliable and sovereign for SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland.

A computer engineer with over 10 years of experience managing systems, networks and infrastructure, David worked with organisations of all sizes before founding AlpenData.
In the field, he saw the same problems repeat themselves: unmanaged workstations, forgotten access rights, backups never tested, scattered support, dependence on a single person. Situations that are avoidable with a structured approach.
